evelyn {newborn, 3 month, 6 month}
My niece was born in October, & I'm just now posting her newborn photos. Sigh. I know, I know, I know. I'm a terrible person for not posting these on time. Please forgive me. While I'm at it, I'm also posting her three month & six month photos.
It took three days to get Evelyn's newborn photos. Three. Days. I had read that newborn photos were difficult because mommy & baby are still figuring out their routine, but we never figured it out. Little Evelyn just wouldn't cooperate, but we got some cute photos nonetheless. I did decide that I do not have a future as a newborn photographer. It's so much harder than it looks.
Evelyn inherited the quilt below, hand stitched by one of her great-great-grandmothers. (I might have too many greats on that.) It was made with the intention of giving it to the next girl born to the Plaisted family. Fifty years later, a girl was finally born.
Ellen had just lain Evelyn down on the blanket when my mom walked in the room & asked if there was a diaper underneath her just in case. There wasn't, so we fixed that. Ellen had just taken her hand off of Evelyn's back when it started. Evelyn will probably be forever mortified that I caught her first poop on camera, but it was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Thankfully, the blanket survived.
Now, it's Christmas & Evelyn is three months old. We didn't do a full photo shoot, but mainly focused on getting a few photos for the Christmas card.
It's so tough being a baby.
Six months old! She had just learned to roll over not long before this shoot, so she was everywhere! She wasn't quite able to sit up on her own, but she mastered that about a week later. She is so cute!!!
