Continuing with photos from my recent California family vacation, we ventured up into Hollywood to see not only the big touristy spots, but also to visit with my new Uncle Buddy, my mother-in-law's oldest brother. At least, most of us went to Hollywood. Jake & Evan stayed in San Diego to attend the last day of Comic Con.

We did a whirlwind tour of the city. First stop was to pick up Uncle Buddy. At this point, he was two weeks off of open heart surgery & was a trooper. Second stop was a farmer's market where we had a celebrity sighting. Keep scrolling to find out who!

Weird Al! He was just buying some pies. We left him alone.

Third stop was lunch at a burger place. Delish.

Fourth, Hollywood Boulevard. By the time we got here, it was starting to get a little crazy with tourists, so we didn't spend too much time wandering around. I was 9 the last time I was here. Not much had changed. :)

I'm not sure how well Jessie & I would do together in a fight if we had to both keep one hand on the same sword.

Being at Comic Con the day before kind of ruined these costumes for me. No, I take that back. Most of the costumes here sad, regardless of whether or not I had been to Comic Con. My favorite sad costumed person was a guy wearing kid footie-pajamas. When we asked who he was supposed to be, he replied, "A baby." 

I was so excited to see Jane Powell's star! I think I impressed Uncle Buddy when I knew who she was. Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is my all-time favorite movies. Go watch it now.

Since we apparently had not had near enough food yet this trip, we stopped for ice cream.

Our last stop of the day was up into the hills to get as close to the Hollywood sign as possible. There was a glorious little dog park at the top that offered a great view of everything. Sign included.
