jackie&chad {engagements} auditorium shores, austin, texas
It's a happy coincidence that today's blog post of engagement photos landed on Memorial Day. Chad is currently a Sergeant in the US Army & finishing his commitment this August after four years of service. He recently finished a tour in Afghanistan where he was stationed at Camp Clark from June through November of last year. Chad, thank you so much for your service.
Chad is a friend of a cousin & he's kind of been adopted into the family. From Florida, he moved to Texas for the Army & school, so I've gotten to know him throughout the past few years when he's joined us for holidays. I got to meet Jackie this Christmas & am so excited to welcome her to the family as well. While I'm really sad I won't be able to celebrate with them at their wedding in July, I am grateful I got to spend an afternoon walking Auditorium Shores with them this spring for their engagement photos.
How did you meet?
We met at the restaurant in March of last year where Jackie was my waitress. I wrote my number on the receipt (pretty cheesy), & we had our first date at Chuy's a few days later
How did you propose?
I took her home to Florida with me in December & we went to a fancy restaurant on the beach called the Rusty Pelican. We went out to a gazebo right on the water where I proposed at sunset.
