He told her that he was finally taking her on that date he’s been promising her. Christmas break was almost over & he wanted to take her out. At 3pm on a Friday. She thought that was a little odd, but put on her fancy new shoes & went with it. After eating they decided to take a leisurely afternoon stroll before heading home. Then, there in the perfect golden light of the most perfect afternoon, he got down on his knee & pulled out a ring.

That & uncontrollable laughter was all I could hear from my vantage point across the way. I know more than one person stopped to watch & we were all tearing up.

Enjoy this crazy season called ‘engagement’ because it passes by so quickly & there’s nothing else like it.
